Exercise 19A
Question 1
Draw line segments equal to the following line segments.

2. Draw line segments having these lengths. Use ruler and compasses to bisect each of them.
(i) $5 \mathrm{~cm}$
(ii) $6.7 \mathrm{~cm}$
(iii) $8 \mathrm{~cm}$
(iv) $5.6$
3. Draw a line segment $A B=10 \mathrm{~cm}$ long. Use ruler and compasses to divide $A B$ into 4 equal parts. What is the length of each part?
4. Draw a line segment $A B$ of length $4.8 \mathrm{~cm}$. Now, construct the perpendicular bisector of the line segment $A B$.
5. Draw a line segment of length $6.8 \mathrm{~cm}$ and draw its perpendicular bisector by using ruler and compasses.
6. Using a protractor, construct an angle of $75^{\circ}$. Now, using a ruler and a pair of compasses, construct an angle equal to $75^{\circ}$.
7. Draw an angle of $135^{\circ}$, using a pair of compasses.
8. With compasses and a ruler, construct each of the following angles.
(i) $30^{\circ}$
(ii) $45^{\circ}$
(iii) $75^{\circ}$
(iv) $67 \frac{1^{\circ}}{2}$
(v) $135^{\circ}$
(vi) $150^{\circ}$
(vii) $120^{\circ}$
9. Using your protractor, draw an angle BAC of measure $120^{\circ}$. With this angle as given, draw an angle of measure $90^{\circ}$. Verify by measurement.
[Hint: 1. Draw $\overrightarrow{A X}$, the bisector of $\angle B A C$. 2. Draw $\overrightarrow{A Y}$, the bisector of
$\angle C A X$. 3. Then, $\angle B A Y$ is the required angle]

10. Draw a linear pair of angles. Bisect each of the two angles. Verify that the two bisecting rays are perpendicular to each other.
